Summary
The University of Michigan School of Nursing (UMSN) is seeking a Research Area Specialist Intermediate who will work with faculty Principal Investigators (PIs) from the Department of Systems, Populations and Leadership, and the Department of Health Behavior and Biological Sciences on two grant-funded research projects. The projects examine the role of violence in influencing HIV clinical care and HIV risk behaviors among two cohorts men and transgender people in the US. The Research Area Specialist Intermediate’s (RASI) primary responsibility will be to assist in the implementation and ongoing coordination of complex cohort studies of men living with HIV or at risk for HIV infection and transgender people living with HIV or at risk for HIV infection. The RASI will work directly with the project manager and with the Faculty Principal Investigators The selected candidate will undertake study coordination tasks, including, but not limited to; programming online surveys using online survey software (i.e. Qualtrics or Survey Monkey); overseeing beta-testing and revision of surveys; coordinating survey distribution using a participant management system; design and implement online recruitment via social media platforms; support the recruitment and retention of study participants; monitor data collection; package and ship specimen collection kits and monitor lab results; manage and distribute incentive payments to participants and support and coordinate research compliance: conduct in-person study visits with research participants at our Ann Arbor study sites (i.e. 400 North Ingalls), including collecting blood samples (phlebotomy training will be provided) from participants.
This is a term-limited position due to salary funded on a grant.
