Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.
Previous experience in a supervisory or senior-level mechanic role.
Familiarity with managing preventive maintenance programs for large fleets
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems
Experience using computerized diagnostic tools and fleet management software.
Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to vehicle maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and vehicle codes.
Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of mechanics and apprentices.
Strong communication skills to coordinate with management, vendors, and team members.
Effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:
Serve as the subject matter expert in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various vehicle systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and emissions systems
Handle complex repairs and provide guidance for troubleshooting unusual issues.
Lead and mentor a team of mechanics, apprentices, and technicians, ensuring quality work and adherence to safety standards.
Delegate tasks effectively, provide training, and oversee performance
Monitor fleet performance and reliability.
Provide the Fleet Officer with maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and costs.
Provide weekly updates to the MTFM and Fleet Officers on vehicles servicing and maintenance status

Ensure that all fleet maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
Maintain detailed records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections for compliance audits and operational transparency.
Oversee inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts to ensure the workshop is fully equipped for routine and emergency repairs.
Support Logistics in service providers tenders to ensure high-quality service for major vehicle maintenance and procurement of spare parts etc.
Support strategic decisions related to fleet expansion, replacement, or the introduction of new technologies.
Stay updated on advancements in vehicle technology, diagnostic tools, and industry trends.
Introduce and implement new tools, techniques, and systems to enhance workshop productivity and fleet reliability
