Your new role
An incredible new opportunity to provide mental health consultation, liaison and direct clinical care in the KEYS model. A new approach to working with vulnerable young people in the Out of Home care system, who exhibit complex, risky and challenging behaviours. In this role, you will also:
- Work collaboratively with Anglicare, VACCA, YSAS and DFFH
- Provide specialist mental health consultation and assessment to vulnerable young people in the Out of Home care system
- Be supported by the HYPE B multidisciplinary team and leaders
- Based in St Albans, with some travel to Sunshine for reflective practice, clinical and operational supervision, along with other team meetings, training and so on
A multidisciplinary role open to Grade 4 Registered Psychiatric Nurses and Grade 3 Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists.
Your new team
Orygen Specialist Programs (OSP), a program of The Royal Melbourne Hospital, provides mental health services to young people aged 15-25 (soon to be 12-25) and their families/carers in Melbourne’s northwest and western suburbs.
The KEYS model is funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) as a new approach to working with vulnerable young people in the Out of Home care system, who exhibit complex, risky and challenging behaviours.
This specialist role will be embedded in our Helping Young People Early (HYPE) team. HYPE’s model uses a relational approach in formulating a young person’s mental health difficulties and aims to support social and vocational recovery.
About You:
You are a self-starter with a passion for youth mental health and making a positive impact in the lives of young people and their families/carers. You will also have:
- You are looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to expand on your skills
- A self-starter who thrives, equally, in a team-environment and independently
- Experience in secondary consultation and systems work
- CAT trained (desirable) – if not, we can provide this!
- Registration and qualifications in a relevant area of practice (see position description for details)
