The Program:
Family Services Programs are delivered through a range of tailored services to strengthen families and improve the wellbeing of children, and can include individual, family and group work. These programs aim to increase the capacity of parents to better meet the needs of their children, which leads to better opportunities and outcomes for children.
Family Services promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people by supporting and empowering families using strength-focused approaches to fully realise their potential. Many families have long histories of involvement with Child Protection and community agencies and require flexible and responsive interventions to promote the best social, emotional, educational and health outcomes for their children.
Your role:
The Team Leader will be instrumental in coordinating the day-to-day delivery of the services to isolated and vulnerable families that require family/parenting and multi-faceted interventions. You will co-ordinate the delivery of a high-quality programs that provides genuine and positive outcomes for clients.
This is a role where you will get to work in conjunction with the Program Manager to plan and implement responses in relation to sector and service developments whilst ensuring appropriate processes are in place to enable continuous improvement of services and to promote best practice and ongoing quality improvement of the program.
As the team leader we also want to see you provide ongoing support, supervision, performance management, learning and development of team members across these programs (see PD for full list).
The skills you will use day to day:
- Your understanding of the Child Protection, OOHC placement and support services and family service system, including legislative and policy framework.
- Flexible, responsive, and evidence-informed interventions to address the needs of children and improve family functioning.
- Knowledge of, and experience in the application of relevant theoretical approaches that underpin casework practice (including theories of trauma, child attachment, development, and abuse)
- Leading a team and supporting staff with supervision, coaching and personal development.
- Delivering programs and services within required timeframes and budget parameters
