Present in the country since the signature of the Cooperation Agreement with the Government of Guinea-Bissau on 29 June, 1975, immediately after its independence, UNDP focuses its interventions in the country in support of good governance, sustainable, inclusive and resilient development, working for a future that offers equality, dignity and opportunities for all, following the commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Context

The contribution of Online Volunteers will help UNDP to effectively communicate its achievements and share knowledge with government counterparts, partners, and the wider public. This will foster greater visibility, and alignment with national priorities while strengthening joint efforts to advance the SDGs in Guinea-Bissau.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking for 1 Online Volunteers to support us by translating UNDP Guinea-Bissau Annual Report 2024 from English to Portuguese. To this end the Online Volunteers are asked:

To translate the document, which is 25 pages long into Portuguese.

Ensure the translation is concise, in line with our communications guidelines, and fits the audience

The selected Online Volunteers will be provided with the document in the original language and will receive guidance on the target audience and our communications guidelines as well as other guidance as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates should be native in Portuguese and fluent in English. Familiarity with technical terms related to Sustainable Development goals will be considered an advantage. Previous translation experience is considered an asset.
