The Regional Contract Manager (RCM) is a critical role responsible for ensuring Facilities Management (FM) services and project delivery across the region are safe, compliant, and deliver value for money. Assets include British Embassy/ High Commission offices, Head of Mission Residences & staff residential properties (SRPs). The role combines contract governance, financial oversight, compliance assurance, and stakeholder engagement, driving high-performing, risk-managed operations across a complex international estate.
The RCM will lead and manage delivery of outsourced FM services across a portfolio of regional Posts in Asia Pacific. Countries covered by the existing contract with embedded FM teams include: Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand. This role will cover a quarter of these Posts.

Please note that we are recruiting for two RCM roles, we are advertising for this role in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beijing and Shanghai. The successful candidate will be based in the location of the Post they apply to.
FOR BEIJING: This role is open to UK‑based partners/spouses, and partners/spouses from the USA, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, providing they hold diplomatic status in China, as well as internal Chinese staff to be located at the Embassy in Beijing. This does not apply to applications from Shanghai.
FOR SHANGHAI: This role is open to UK‑based partners/spouses, and partners/spouses from the USA, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, providing they hold diplomatic status in China, as well as both internal and external Chinese and British. This does not apply to applications from Beijing.

This is a new role in the team, and the successful candidate will be given the support, guidance and L&D they need to excel in their new positions.
Working Patterns:
35 hours of work per week from Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:00. There will be occasions that require you work outside normal hours.
The FCDO also operates an agile workforce. To facilitate this, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as we may reasonably require.
As part of our Consular and crisis preparedness, all staff in the China Network will be assigned a crisis role at Post. Staff are also expected to be flexible in supporting Consular work as required. We welcome and will seek to deploy previous Consular or crisis experience; however, this does not form part of our recruitment criteria, except for specific Consular roles.
