The British Embassy in Cairo is looking to recruit a Community Liaison Officer (CLO), job grade Executive Officer (EO), on a fixed term contract of eight (8) months to cover maternity leave.
This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with Embassy Management for the well-being of staff at Post, with the primary function as advocate for and provision of support to UK-based staff and families on family and community issues, principally in the areas of information gathering, welfare, pastoral care and communication

Eligibility:
Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in Egypt.
Remuneration:
The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role, including a non-negotiable gross salary of USD 1,036 per month, subject to insurance and tax as per the usual regulations, based on a 22-hour net per week. Actual working hours are to be agreed between line manager and job holder. The CLO may need to work flexible hours in line with planned events.
Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary may have their salaries reduced by the equivalent local income tax amount.
We offer a competitive package including medical benefits, performance related bonus, recreational facilities, opportunities for job related training and development, etc. There are no other allowances payable as part of this package. No accommodation nor relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.
The role is for a part-time employment, on a fixed-term contract of eight (8) months to cover a maternity leave subject to three (3) months’ probationary period.

Process:
The recruitment process, including security clearance, is expected to take around 2-3 months. The security clearance process includes checks available in country and with UK, dependant on the security level required for the role and the candidate’s profile and UK footprint. You may experience some delay in the progress of this recruitment campaign, and we are working hard to minimise any disruption.
Appointable candidates who were unsuccessful at interview may be placed on a ‘reserve list’. If during the reserve period of six (6) months the same or a largely similar role becomes available, that role may be offered to the second or subsequent candidate.
The start date mentioned in the job advert is a tentative start date and the successful candidate will be required to undergo security-vetting procedures. Any offer of employment will be subject to the candidate achieving suitable clearances.
