| The British Embassy in Tashkent is seeking to recruit an Executive Assistant to the Ambassador / Residence Manager. Main purpose of job: As Executive Assistant to His Majesty’s Ambassador (HMA), you are responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of HMA’s office. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to successfully engage with a variety of stakeholders, including senior government officials and business figures, as well as colleagues from across the whole of the Embassy. You will need a strong delivery focus to ensure that tasks are actioned quickly, and you will need to be able to prioritise workloads, as you will be responsible for managing the diary and correspondence with accuracy, consistency and discretion. You will also be responsible for managing visits by the Ambassador and you are required to provide support for senior and VIP visits too. |
As the Residence Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the British Ambassador’s Residence and provide line management, direction, and support for the Residence staff (Chef and Cleaner). You will also take the lead on the planning and delivery of official events held at the Residence. The role includes maintaining the wine cellar, including stock management and reconciliation, as well as handling procurement for events-related needs. You may also be asked to provide occasional cover for the Embassy Receptionist.

This is a full-time, permanent contract for 35 working hours net per week.
The successful candidate will be subject to professional background checks and security clearance.
Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Uzbekistan are subject to the terms and conditions of service according to local Uzbek employment law. All applicants interested in this job opportunity should have the legal right to live and work in Uzbekistan.

Working patterns: This is a full-time position however the British Embassy Tashkent supports flexible working and would be able to consider flexi-hours (eg early start and early finish each working day) or compressed hours (eg working 10 days in 9).
