This role sits at the heart of the Embassy’s Economy and Prosperity Team, supporting delivery of the UK–Jordan partnership on trade and economic development. You will work across trade, economic development and diplomacy priorities, supporting shared UK–Jordan objectives through coordination with government, private sector and international partners.
You will play a key role in delivering priority Department for Business and Trade (DBT) campaigns and trade activities, driving UK–Jordan engagement in high-growth sectors. You will coordinate across government and partners, identifying when additional technical or senior support is needed to advance progress.
You will plan and deliver trade missions, business events and commercial engagement, ensuring strong UK visibility and outcomes. You will also support work on market access barriers and priority areas of trade policy, identifying opportunities for UK businesses and supporting the delivery of UK objectives through effective stakeholder engagement.
You will support the preparation of high-quality briefings and reporting for senior Embassy colleagues and visiting UK stakeholders, helping to ensure a joined-up HMG approach across the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
Operating at the interface of trade and economic development, you will help ensure the Embassy’s trade activities and engagements are aligned, contributing to delivery of UK objectives in a complex operating environment.
Duties and responsibilities:

- Support the planning and delivery of trade missions, delegations, business events and sector focused activities, including logistics, stakeholder coordination and briefing.
- Lead engagement with UK companies in selected sectors to identify opportunities and barriers to trade, working with Jordan British Business Council (JBBC) business organisations, and Jordanian private sector.
- Deliver high-quality briefings, submissions and reports to support senior officials and Ministerial engagement.
- Working collaboratively with DBT, FCDO and delivery partners to support a coherent and joined up HMG trade offer.
- Act as a supporting focal point for engagement with relevant UK investment organisations and related UK capital market or investor readiness initiatives in Jordan.
