Main purpose of job:
This job offers the successful candidate an opportunity to work in the high-performing Department of Business & Trade (DBT) team at the British Office Taipei, working with the UK and Taiwan governments in a high-profile bilingual environment. The role seeks an intern to join our team and support the performance and delivery of DBT’s trade and investment work, with a particular focus on technology activity around major events such as Semicon and Computex, while also providing flexible cross-office support across other priority sectors and portfolios as required.
DBT’s role is to promote UK’s business interests worldwide, and the job holder will contribute to the UK’s prosperity by assisting UK businesses wishing to export to and/or establish a presence in Taiwan. Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve: The successful candidate will support the team’s overall performance, administration and event delivery, with a focus on technology-related activity around major trade events such as Semicon and Computex, while also flexing to provide cross-office support on other trade and investment priorities as required, including energy, space, cyber and investment. Working patterns: British Office Taipei has a strong commitment to work/life balance. Standard office hours are 9.00-17.00 with flexi-hours possibility within the opening hours 8.30-18.30. Other information: Employment offers are subject to successful clearance of pre-employment checks. Staff recruited locally by the British Office are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Taiwan employment law.
