The successful candidate will provide reliable driving services and carry out general maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Embassy facilities.
Driver Responsibilities
- Act as the Embassy’s secondary driver, primarily transporting embassy staff—especially the Deputy Head of Mission (DHM) for official duties.
- Drive safely at all times in compliance with Mongolian traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform ad hoc driving tasks as assigned by the Transport Manager or other embassy staff, including:
- Procuring supplies with DCSM and Residence staff
- Visiting contractors and suppliers
- Shopping and logistical support
Vehicle Management
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
- Maintain proper care and control of all assigned vehicles.
- Keep all vehicles clean (interior and exterior) and in serviceable condition.
- Ensure the security of vehicles at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of all journeys in accordance with FCDO requirements.
Customer Service & Support
- Provide a high level of customer service to passengers and staff.
- Assist with ad hoc corporate support tasks, including moving heavy furniture or equipment.
Handyman Responsibilities
- Ensure the Embassy premises, utilities, and systems operate efficiently and safely.
- Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs across the compound and facilities.
- Support the continuous functionality of all facility systems to enable mission operations.
Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
- Conduct minor repairs in buildings and compound areas.
- Supervise external contractors and labor when required.
Inspection & Compliance
- Conduct regular inspections and testing (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) of:
- Fire safety systems
- Electrical systems
- Heating and cooling systems
- Plumbing systems
- Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
Issue Resolution
- Identify facility-related issues and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Report major or complex issues to the Corporate Services Manager (CSM).
- Assist with coordination and completion of necessary repairs.

- Driver must have valid B category Mongolian driver’s licence.
- Be familiar with various destinations including embassies, ministries, companies, airport, hotels, banks etc.
- Have a broad knowledge of travel routes, road conditions throughout UB as well as countryside roads
- Ability to learn and improve
- Able to use navigation apps (such as Google map etc)
- Some knowledge of technical /mechanical issues.
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekend and public holiday
- Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
- Basic technical skills in maintenance and repair work
- Safe driving practices and situational awareness
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to urgent needs

- Intermediary level of English.
- More than 5 years’ experience of being a full-time driver with clear record
