This is an internship opportunity for current students seeking summer internship.
The role provides administrative and operational support to the Corporate Services team, focusing on HR records, protocol documentation, archiving, and inventory management. You will assist in organizing and maintaining accurate, accessible filing systems and inventory records, supporting efficiency, compliance, and audit readiness.
Working closely with HR and corporate services colleagues, you will also help improve information management by ensuring documentation is stored and retained according to FCDO information management policy. The role is designed to strengthen record keeping, improve document accessibility, support compliance, and ensure efficient tracking of office and protocol-related assets.
The role also offers practical learning opportunities in administration, HR support and asset management.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- HR Records and Filing Support
Support the organization and maintenance of HR files, ensuring employee records are properly filed, updated, and archived in line with internal procedures. Assist with sorting, labelling, scanning, and storing both hard copy and electronic documents to improve accessibility and audit readiness. - Protocol Documentation and Administrative Support
Provide support in organizing and maintaining protocol-related records, including filing correspondence, official notes, and supporting documents linked to visits, events, and official processes. Ensure protocol files are complete, up to date, and stored appropriately for future reference. - Inventory Tracking and Record Maintenance
Assist in maintaining inventory records by updating stationary lists, checking item movements, and ensuring assets, supplies, or archived materials are accurately logged. Support periodic stock checks and help identify missing, outdated, or unrecorded items. - General Administrative Support
Provide broader administrative assistance when needed, including preparing files, photocopying, scanning, data entry, and supporting the team with routine coordination tasks related to HR and office administration.
The above list is not exhaustive, and you will be required to be flexible as specific responsibilities could change at the discretion of the line manager or head of section. The job description may be reviewed to meet changes in business needs. You may also take on other ad hoc tasks as required.

Working hours and remuneration:
Gross monthly Allowance will be TND 1,500 per month.
This is a full-time, three (3) months internship position of 40 hours gross per week (inclusive of breaks). Standard working hours are from 08:00-16:30 from Mondays to Thursdays and from 08:00-13:00 on Fridays.
Unless authorised otherwise, we expect the successful candidate to be physically present in the Embassy five days per week. A flexible working pattern may be possible depending on operational requirements and agreement with the line manager, and in line with FCDO and Embassy policies. The successful candidate should be flexible in their approach to hours worked as there may be some work out of hours (evening/ weekend).
This appointment is also subject to satisfactory local and UK security clearances.

The start date mentioned in the advert is a tentative start date and the successful candidate will be required to undergo security-vetting procedures. Any offer of internship will be subject to the candidate achieving suitable clearances and reference checks.
The recruitment process, including security clearance, is expected to take around 2-3 months. The security clearance process includes checks available in country and in the UK, dependant on the security level required for the role and the candidate’s profile and UK footprint. You may experience some delay in the progress of this recruitment campaign, and we are working hard to minimise any disruption.
